Amid rumors that Final Fantasy XI could be closed down to make way for Final Fantasy XIV, Square Enix reiterated in a blog post that a mid-March version update is in the works. “As always, a host of new additions and enhancements are in store for you, the details of which will first be unveiled to the public at VanaFest 2010 on Sunday, February 28,” the company said at the official FFXI website. VanaFest 2010 is an annual event held in Japan that offers fans a venue to congregate, meet with developers, and learn about upcoming developments to the FFXI game.
