So what’s new for Season 1.2?

First up, we have the new Accolade system. Players can advance through the game by earning Accolades in a number of ways: completing certain missions, inflict damage of a particular energy type and more.

Squad Support is another premier addition to the patch. With this comes the opportunity to team up players of differing levels, surely benefiting those who’d want to play together with their friends and families.

STO Announces Advisory Council

Last April 2, the first ever Star Trek Online Advisory Council was introduced by Cryptic Studio. An informal group composed of STO aficionados, the council was created to provide means for feedback and get ideas regarding the game’s development from players themselves.

The following are the four charter members:
Adm. Chris Fisher and Adm. Jeremy Randall from U.S.S. STOked; Adm. Jonathan Lane from Starfleet and Adm. Anthony Pascale from U.S.S. TrekMovie.com

More members are also expected to join the Council in the future.

Seems like the developers of Star Trek Online can’t get enough of us and our gaming habits. If you have time to spare, fill up their new survey here. You’ll need to log in with your Cryptic account and answer ubiquitous “improvements and suggestions” questions. We think it’s great initiative to to please our wants—but sometimes it’s not about giving us what we want, but giving us what we didn’t know we wanted. Foresight is a powerful tool in MMO these days and a young title such as Star Trek Online will have to start setting the pace if they hope to retain gamers for a long time. But what the heck, a little nudge in the right direction could help, right?
